Take a stroll through the Gallery

Current Work.

My work examines the intersection of living with chronic pain and coming to terms with an unseen disability. By using imagery from manipulating bedsheets - objects typically associated with rest, safety and recovery - into twisted, stark, contorted forms, that are either highly contrasted, or layered beneath strange undulating shadows, I hope to mirror the experience of bodily restriction, the effects on the body and mind of medication and the sheer mental exhaustion of waiting for the cruel spectre of pain to strike _ a dark veiled looming presence.

This series of paintings looks to explore the tension between the physical body and its limitations because of illness, through dramatic compositions and a limited palette and ultimately highlight how conditions with chronic pain diminishes one’s sense of self and autonomy.

The ‘Twisted’ series…

Everyday, everybody, everywhere.

Little paintings that mean so much. Ready for you to collect.
